Where
is ULAC?
ULAC
is located only two miles from the picturesque town of Killaloe
in East Clare. It is situated on the sheltered shores of Lough
Derg where we have access to one of Irelands cleanest and
friendliest inland waterways. Rising from the lake the wooded
hillsides of Crag Hill provide a perfect environment for many
of our land-based activities.
What
is ULAC?
ULAC
is owned and run by the University of Limerick Sports
Department. As well as providing an excellent facility for
the staff and students in UL we also cater all year round
for the general public.
Why
come to ULAC?
ULAC
offers a perfect location for all your outdoor needs. All
our activities are in close proximity so no long bus journeys
from the centre to the activities, you can get straight from
the water into a hot shower. Each year we invest in new modern
equipment; to complement this up to date equipment we employ
very experienced and qualified staff who are experts in their
fields and use safe, modern and exciting teaching and instructing
methods. All of this of course offered at very competitive
rates, but to truly understand our dedication to excellence
you have got to come visit us!
Facilities
The
centres lakeside location provides us with easy access to
the water and our purpose built piers and slipways provide
a modern and safe environment for all our water based activities.
The centre itself has heated changing facilities and hot showers
for ladies and gents as well as the luxury of a sauna. We
also have a kitchen where hot drinks and refreshments can
be prepared and a small indoor dining area. For the more pleasant
summer weather we have a barbeque/picnic area on site, which
includes a large marquee and gazebo in case of showers. We
also have a lecture room complete with up to date audiovisual
lecturing facilities. All of our facilities and many of our
activities are also wheelchair friendly.

to get here:
By Road:
15 miles from Limerick City on the N7 turn for Killaloe at
Birdhill. - over the Bridge at Killaloe - turn right - the
Activity Centre is 2 miles along the Scariff road from Killaloe.
