What
will the Expedition entail?
This
expedition will be organised by Into
India, an Irish owned company that specialises in expeditions
across northern India. They will organise a 3-4 week trip
of a lifetime in the foothills of the Himalayas.
The first section of the trip is a Multi day trek in the Himalayan
foothills. The trek will be organised and run by experienced
guides who will lead you off the tourist trail to experience
a real Indian adventure. Trekking in India awards you with
amazing panoramic views as well as the chance to visit farms
and villages untouched by our modern ways of living.
The second part of the trip will be a white water adventure
of a lifetime. You will travel by raft through the Himalayas
and visit areas rarely seen by tourists. On this adventure
you will be guided by some of Ireland and India’s best
white water raft guides. As you travel down stream the river
will be your home as you run amazing rapids by day and sleep
on the riverbanks under the stars each night.
This trip will take place in September/October 2009; students
will have to pay for this trip well in advance to secure places.
Full payment would need to be made by May 2009. The exact
price of the trip will be known in early 2009.
