Windsurfing
Courses
The
rush of adrenalin as you feel your board start to take off
across the water, your body comfortably balanced against the
power of the rig, the sun on your back, the breeze in your
face, is an experience hard to match, and up until recently
was the privilege of the few who had endured the pain of the
steep curve of learning to windsurf.
Windsurfing is now much easier and more fun to learn than
it was several years ago. Changes in design and advances in
technology now mean that you can stand on a board that is
both stable and lightweight, with a rig that is light and
effortless to control, giving you the twin benefits of easy
balance and fast performance.
Teaching methods have also advanced - and the Go Windsurfing!
scheme is designed to enable you to discover the sport for
yourself under the guidance of highly skilled and qualified
instructors.
With
a maximum of six participants on a course plus a dedicated
instructor, there is no limitation to what participants can
learn.
Ashore: The shore-based sections of our courses
take place in fully equipped, dedicated classrooms using the
most up to date teaching methods and equipment.
Afloat: Lough Derg is an ideal spot to learn
and practice the techniques involved for windsurfing. Beginners
start off in our sheltered water pool but before long they
move beyond the breakwater and find themselves planning and
carving across the wind swept waters of Lough Derg. But don’t
take our word for it come and experience this fresh uplifting
breeze in your face.
